ONLINE ONLY ABSOLUTE AUCTION: PERSONAL PROPERTY & FURNISHINGS FROM THE ESTATE OF EVELYN McALLISTER-FORTSON
BIDDING STARTS TO CLOSE: AUGUST 13 @ 10AM
Evelyn Louise McAllister Fortson was born and raised in Knoxville, TN. Throughout her life she was a caregiver, opening her home to family and friends in times of need. She also worked as a full-time domestic worker, sharing special bonds with the families she assisted. She later was employed by prominent Knoxville family, Ruth & Joseph Fielden Sr. and Kathrine & Joseph Fielden Jr. for 25 years until her health declined. She experienced a special bond with all the Fielden’s children during her employment in sharing their growth. Mrs. Evelyn was a faithful and dedicated member of Sentertown Baptist Church for 70 years and one of the mothers of the Church. She served in many capacities, on the Pastor’s Appreciation Board, Usher Board President, Hospitality Chairman, Choir Member and missionary volunteer (assisting as needed).
One of her joyful accomplishments was going to Haiti to help the mission in building a school for the Haitian Children. Mrs. Evelyn, as she was called, was a mentor to the young ladies of the church and her family, always giving advice to help in life. Her love for family was felt through her giving and fellowship of involvement in the Knoxville Community. It was important to her that her family joined the family reunions and cookouts, vacations, 4th Of July festivities and most of all her Christmas Celebrations. She was very respected and had a smile that would light up your heart.
Mrs. Evelyn passed away March 10, 2025.
Thanks to the family for excerpts from Obituary.
